Let's start the week with our check in.
In your learning journal please let me know:
How are you feeling?
a) Awesome!
b) I'm doing pretty ok
c) Just meh
d) I'm struggling
e) I'm not at all ok and I would like a personal check-in with you Mrs. Nye.
Please explain your above answer.
Last Monday you set out a plan for yourself using some sentence starters that I gave you. Go back and read that plan. In your learning journal, tell me how you did. Did you stick to your plan?
The Giver/Gathering Blue
Please read chapter 10.
Remember, at the end of this book you will be writing an essay comparing the community where the book takes place and the community where you live. In preparation for that essay please write one paragraph making one comparison. Perhaps choose a way that they are alike, or choose one way that they are different. Use quotes from the book to support your answer.
This weekend we made toad houses in our backyards with some clay pots I found in our garage. Toads are great friends to have around in the yard. They eat many insects that aren't great for the garden. I put a post on how to make a "Toad Abode" on the We The Kind website. Later this week I will be challenging you to "upcycle" something from around your house. Upcycling is creating a new and useful item out of something that was going to be thrown out or recycled. Start looking around your house and thinking about what you might want to make.
