Halloween!
Tomorrow is our Halloween dance.
A few things to remember:
1. Costumes are not to include masks
2. Costumes are not to have accessories (ie. replica weapons)
3. In the afternoon the student council will be hosting a dance. If you do not want to go to the dance there will also be a games room option available.

Another beautiful day in the forest.
We did a great job at our first solo sits.
Now that our mapping of the spray painted trees is complete we have an idea of the gaps that will be in our beautiful forest. What can we do about this?

So glad to see you all today after time away at eco-camp!

Today in math we talked about last night's election.
Amazing how fractions, decimals and percentages apply to real life!
For tomorrow - Please answer the following question:
If you were a Member of Parliament for the Green Party and you really wanted to push through legislation (get your idea approved ) what party (or parties) would you approach to support your vote? Please explain using fractions, decimals and percentages.

Extraordinary Birds
Please begin planning and working on your final assignments for this book.
"Over the  course of the book Extraordinary Birds, how does December's sense of 'belonging' and 'home' change? Please answer this with pictures/graphics and words."

Those who submitted their letters for feedback had them returned today. The final copy is due on Wednesday.

Science project is due tomorrow.

I took advantage of the sunshine and warmer weather and released all of our butterflies over the weekend. I fed them, warmed them and then off they went! Safe travels friends.

We are continuing to work on building a strong team and learning community in our class.
Today we tried the "Bull Ring" activity.
We had a lot of good communication but we also learned that we have some work to do!
Please think abut how you can contribute in a positive way to our community.

We are working on using equivalent fractions and common denominators to add and subtract fractions. Please make sure you can complete all of the questions that your table group set out for each other today.


Literacy
We looked at a reading today about the Seven Sacred (Grandfather) Teachings. In your reading journal, talk about which of the teachings do you feel you are very strong at and which do you feel you are still developing. Remember - when we are responding to reading, support your ideas with ideas from the text you are reading.
