I just wanted to start with that today. Remember it - it is true.

We are over a week into our distance learning and I am wondering - how is it going?
I don't really have a sense of how much time you are spending on school work.
The guidelines from the board are that you should be doing between eight and ten hours of school work a week - that's for all subjects. In your learning journal, please tell me  - Is this about what you are doing? Are you finding it is more than that? or not enough? Please be honest.

Reminders!
- Please check your google classrooms for art, history/geography, science and French!
- Mr. Hussey is available to help ELL students. You can email him at gareth.hussey@yrdsb.ca

The Barred Owlets have hatched!
They are so sweet - you should check out the nest cams.

Literacy
The Giver/Gathering Blue - Chapter 4 - remember to use evidence from the text (quotes) to support your ideas.

The Giver - Talk about "release". What does it mean to be released?  How did Roberto look when he walked through the door of the Releasing Room?

Gathering Blue - How was Kira feeling at the end of the chapter? How would you be feeling if you were in her place?

Math
Using yesterday's graphs:
1. If you were a hamburger company, which graph would you use to try to convince stores to buy your hamburgers to sell at their store? Explain.
2. What if you were a hot dog company? Which graph would you use? Explain.
