A beautiful day for a walk and some bird feeding

A note from Mrs. Rifle

Dear Grade 8 Students (going to RHHS) and Families,
Now that the courses are submitted, some of you might want to consider taking Enriched Courses. You must complete the Google Form to make that request. Requests do not mean that you are automatically accepted. You can take Math, English, Science, Geography, French and Grade 10 Computer Studies at the enriched level.
Students who are keen in a subject area may be interested in taking an Enriched Level course.  Students who are successful in Enriched courses traditionally have strong marks and learning skills in that subject, however, there is no minimum mark threshold a student must meet to take enriched courses.
Students will delve into topics in more depth and breadth than in typical Academic courses and will be expected to employ time management and organization skills to manage the additional work load.  Students choosing enriched courses should be comfortable with a faster paced classroom and, potentially, increased levels of homework.

All course verifications will be sent electronically March 31/April 1. Please check your codes that you have selected the correct levels (Academic, Applied …). This is a verification process, not to change courses unless absolutely necessary.

To apply for Enriched Courses: https://forms.gle/KFyydNC2GKFLT4nP6

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Tuesday 2 March 2021

 Tiger Rising

Reminder that your two assignments for this book are due Monday.

  1. Big ideas. What do you think the big ideas were for this book? How did the author get these ideas across? Please give specific evidence from the book to support your answer.
  2. Alternate ending. Write a a different ending to the story. Site specific evidence from the story that led you to that ending.

Here is the feedback that you received from your classmates. Please make sure you apply this feedback to your final presentation tomorrow.
