 Hello Everyone!

I wish I could be seeing you all in person. I miss you. I will keep the blog up to date as best as I can with the work that I am leaving at school for the other wonderful teachers that are there in my place. I realize I forgot about your phys ed class today! I'm so sorry - I'll make it up to you next week or when I return.

While I am at home, I am checking my email (michelle.nye@yrdsb.ca) quite regularly so if you have a question or concern send me an email and I will get back to you. We could set up a google meet or chat if need be.

Math

  1. We looked at the three following problems:
    1. An improper fraction is greater than 4 but less than 5. What could the fraction be? Are there numerators or denominators that are not possible?

    2. Choose three or more improper fractions that are slightly less than three wholes. What do the fractions have in common? What don’t they have in common?

    3. Use the digits from 0 to 9 to create four fractions. Use each digit only once. Make both proper and improper fractions. Then, order the fractions from least to greatest.

  2. For homework - Quarter the Cross. This can be done on graph paper. Here are some examples:
There are dozens of ways you can do this - push yourself to find as many different ways as you can!

Joy!
Our last pillar of joy is forgiveness. Read this article about how forgiveness can help our mental well being. Make notes in your journal of joy about the main points of the article.

We also read Whimsy's Heavy Things

In your Journal of Joy, draw a picture, or a visual representation of the heavy things that may be weighing you down. Now draw another picture showing how forgiveness (and the other pillars of joy) can lighten those heavy things for you. Think about how Julie Kraulis showed these ideas using pictures.
