Math

Today we looked a some scatterplots and talked about how you can display data in a misleading way - or a way that suits your purpose. Consider this as you continue to work on the data for your Green New Deal.

Reminder - You history is due Monday. Please make sure you compare and contrast, and use quotes from other sources to support your ideas.

When we were out in the forest Catherine noticed this in ice. It is a shockingly similar silhouette to the one used regularly in Stamped (just looking the other way). Amazing...

Looking at the work of artist Lorna Simpson we are creating self portraits of ourselves - but from the back. What will you direct the viewer to look at. What do you reveal or force into gaze?

 Math

Today we started building our data vocabulary. Please make sure you have a vocabulary list - with definitions - that includes; categorical, numerical, nominal, ordinal, discrete, continuous.

Green New Deal

Also connected to math - we are at the data collection stage of this project. We spent a great deal of time over the last two days generating ideas on what data we can look for in our Green New Deal project. Now we need to actively search for data connected to the systems and subsystems we are focusing on. This is not an easy task - you will be compiling data and information from several resources.

Example: if you are looking at a sports team and the transportation subsystem.

We are learning about how the United States of America was founded on many contradictions to say the least. Canada, we will soon find out, wasn't much better.
