Thankful Thursday!
More pumpkin seed fun!
Pumpkin week continues!
We started the day with a beautiful walk for outdoor learning. We made it farther than we have ever gone before! We flew with leaf wings and saw many birds including an Tennessee warbler and a pileated woodpecker (which I was SOOOOO excited to see!)
Here we are flying with our leaf wings!

For Wondering Wednesday, we asked the question - how should our class pumpkin be carved?
Finished product!
We used our pumpkin seeds to start working on grouping in math.
Pumpkin Week Continues!
Tuneful Tuesday - A classic for Pumpkin Week!
🎵 Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said "oh my its getting late!"
The second one said "There are witches in the air."
The third one said "But I don't care."
The fourth one said "Let's run and run and run"
The fifth one said "I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooooo went the wind and out went the light
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight. 🎵
Today we read "How Many Seeds In A Pumpkin"
We were inspired to discover how many seeds are in our class pumpkin!
First we all guessed how many seeds we thought were in there.
Then we separated the gooey insides from the seeds.
We counted the seeds.
We added all of our seeds together and got 624! Ben was our closest guess at 671. Pretty close!
Mindful Monday
We started the day centering ourselves as a tree. We rooted our feet to the ground, felt the strength in our trunks and took deep breaths through to our branches.
Math - we are working on patterning. We have been working on understanding patterns through movement. You can try this at home!

Thankful Thursday!
"In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships." https://www.health.harvard.edu
We continued with our weekly gratitude journals. Such beautiful gratitude from such young people.
Library!
Ms. Angastiniotis read "Creepy Pair of Underwear". Look for our own Creepy Underwear designs in backpacks today.
Take a look at our beautiful fall leaf finger painting bulletin board - Thank you Ms. M!
Our newest Aiken Drum - we had lots of laughs creating this one!
🎵 ...and his hair was made of pins
...and his eyes were made of chocolate
... and his nose was made of a clock
... and his mouth was made of sticks
... and his neck was made of a carrot
... and his arms were made of tables
... and his body was made of a pear
... and his legs were made of boxes
... and his name was Aiken Drum!
Take Me Outside Day!
For our outdoor learning on Take Me Outside Day, we did some further observations of our tree friend Sharkey; we collected one leaf each and did a bark rubbing on Sharkey's trunk.
We are continuing to work on identifying our feelings. We read the book "How are you Peeling?" and then we chose feelings flashcards that we could identify with today. We wrote about how we are feeling.
Tomorrow is Spirit Day! Please wear purple to show your support.
Tomorrow is also our library day. Please make sure you return books if you haven't already.
Tuneful Tuesday!
Can you find the rhyming words in our new song?
🎵 The Leaves on the trees fall down
Yellow, orange, red and brown
Soon there will be no leaves left
Except for those on the ground. 🎵

A Request
Please do not send toys to school. We know that the children are excited to play with things from home, but due to covid restrictions, we can't have children sharing toys and it is too difficult to monitor which toys belong to each person. Your help with this would be greatly appreciated.
