Whatever you do,

Whether near or so far,

I know you'll be great

You already are.

It has been an absolute gift and pleasure working with your children.

I love them and I will miss them.

I wish you all the best in the bright, bright future!

I can't believe how quickly this year has passed!

I have a few last pictures of our end of year fun;

Our performance for our parent celebration of learning was so fun! I hope you all continue to sing!

Thank you to the families who were able to come and celebrate our year with us.
Our walk in the forest was absolutely wonderful. I do hope you continue to to learn in this magical space. This community is so lucky to have it.
Remember to feed the chickadees this winter! They will thank you!

We had such fun at our play day! The weather was perfect and we are so grateful to the staff and students who organized this fun day!
Chalk art on the pavement!
Parachute fun - classic!
Scoops!
Another classic - the water relay!

I haven't had a chance to update the blog in a few days, but exciting things are happening in the playhouse robin nest! Thank you to Ms. Sarros for the photography.

Starting to get some feathers!
Here's Mom with a food delivery of a nice big worm!
Here's Mom on the fence again by the nest.
Starting to lift their heads!

Where's my mommy?!?!?!

 Exciting News!

The robins in our playhouse nest have hatched!

We are wondering how big they will get over the weekend?

We had such fun with track and field this week! We went out when the big kids were doing their track and field meet and we gave some of the events a try ourselves.

We gave running long jump a try...

and standing long jump.
We felt how heavy the shot put was.
So heavy!

We cheered on the runners in the races.
We had our own races!
On you mark... get set...
GO!!!

A beautiful day of learning in the forest!

We started off with a visit to Sharkey
We noticed that there are big leaves growing at the base of the trunk. This is a different plant sharing the space with Sharkey.
We also noticed "yellow dots" on the leaves. On closer investigation we saw they there is some kind of "ball" or "blob" on the leaves.

"Maybe it is eggs?"

"Maybe a bug is in there?"

In the forest we learned about Herb Robert.

We learned about Red Winged Blackbirds. I couldn't get a picture of the one that visited us - but we did see one!

We learned how to identify them by their call.

We always LOVE running back to our indoor classroom!

As the beautiful children have picked up on over and over again - my favourite colour is purple! So, many of our books during June will have to do with the colour purple!

First up - Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse!

Lilly wants to be a whole bunch of things when she grows up such as;
- a teacher
- a ballerina
- a scuba diver

We have talked quite a bit about what we want to be when we grow up too;

- a police officer

-a chef

- a firefighter

- an astronaut

- so many more!

Ms. S is continuing our inquiry on robins in response to the robin nest in our playhouse in the yard.

We are examining a robin's egg that was abandoned in a nest in Mrs. Nye's backyard.
We are also examining a nest from last summer that Mrs. Nye took after the birds had left it.
We are talking about the robin life cycle.

One of my favourite books about trees!

"What this bear loved to hug most were trees."

The bear was angry with the man because "he chopped down the tree."
Instead of hurting the man, the bear "hug him."
Notice the similarities to the artwork above? Amazing!

We checked in on Daisy's acorn:

"Its a seedling now! We should measure the height on a stick."
~ Damien

What a great idea Damien! We will continue to monitor the height of the tree as it grows.
